Don't let the name above my photo fool you. Yes, I am WAS one of the most recognizable writers in the heating and cooling (HVAC) trade in my position as Business Editor for The Air Conditioning, Heating & Refrigeration News, where I am a three-time winner of the top columnist award for the Midwest U.S. as judged by the American Society of Business Publication Editors (ASBPE), but I am MUCH more.

I say WAS because I was laid off in late January 2009 due to budget cuts -- but I am still very active in the HVAC trade. Just ask all of the contractors who I continue to interact with! In fact, I am now back on the pages of The NEWS as a freelance journalist. Believe me, it is great to be back!

I work and reside in suburban Detroit with my wife, Janet, and two children Ryan and McKenna. I am a graduate of Michigan State University with a B.A. in Journalism.
